You are invited to attend an Education Issues Forum hosted by the HCREC Faith Engagement Committee and PointNorth on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The goal of the forum is to unify the faith community to the common goal of protecting our children. Mathew 19:14, Luke 17:2

The forum will provide a broader understanding of the state requirements for “health education” and will summarize the events that led to the cancellation of the iMad “Get Real” program as provided by the Heartland Rural Health Network.  The forum will also provide information on possible replacement programs for “health education” in Highlands public schools. Any replacement program selected should provide “health education” responsive to Florida Statutes and not be an opportunity for comprehensive sex education.  The differences between Sexual Risk Reduction (SRR) and Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) will be discussed. The forum objectives are to inform the faith community regarding local challenges and the schemes that target our children, inspire community support, and suggest ways to help our children and community.

The event will be held at The Ministry Center located at the corner of Sparta Road and SR 66, 8475 Sparta Rd, Sebring, FL.  This is a “free” event. Admission by confirmed RSVP only. Please RSVP by April 26th.
